God blessed Habitat with nice weather and a full force of volunteers this past Saturday. Dakota Plains Ag Center showed up ready to work. The group completed the shingling and siding for the garage at 906 Locust Street. While another group of volunteers from Dakota Plains and United Church of Christ worked through the heat inside the home and hung the drywall almost completing the job in one workday!
Dakota Plains is a new partner to Habitat for Humanity Clay & Yankton and we are so thankful for all they have done. As a group, they contributed 195 volunteer hours on Saturday. Dakota Plains also has supported Habitat for Humanity Clay & Yankton Counties with a monetary gift of $5,000 along with new tools for the jobsite.
UCC has been a supporter of Habitat for Humanity for many years and they typically contribute hours to hang drywall in most of the Habitat for Humanity homes. They also support Habitat for Humanity with monetary gifts to support our mission.
Habitat for Humanity Clay & Yankton Counties is so thankful to have such great support as we try to bridge the gap in affordable housing in our communities. Putting Gods love into action is exactly what happens when groups come together to help strengthen the future for a family.
