Kolberg Pioneer has been a leading employer in Yankton since 1965. KPI’s mission is to grow and prosper in the industries that it serves, but also is interested in helping the community grow and prosper to create a better place to live and work. The business and its employees have been committed to helping the Yankton community by giving of both time and resources. This extends to several organizations in the area with Habitat being one of them. One of the ways this is done specifically is through KPI’s employee match program through which several employees have contributed time and materials to help on the Habitat build sites.
When asked about the Kolberg’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity, company President Jeff May states that affordable housing continues to be a huge need in Yankton. He says that Habitat’s “hand up, not a hand out” is one of the things that makes Habitat unique amongst charitable organizations and that Kolberg would like to see Habitat continue to grow and offer more housing opportunities for those in need.
